First successful kayak roll!
Teaching to roll a kayak
The pool sessions are a fantastic way to discover kayaking in a warm and clean environment. There will be at least one PaddleUK qualified coach, or experienced paddler, and usually two, available at the session to teach the basics of kayaking: capsize drill, basic strokes, deep water rescues and rolling a kayak. You can practise, or learn, several types of kayak roll: sweep, pawlata, C to C, back deck , hand roll etc.
.
Sessions are open to the general public who are over 18 years old and can swim 50 meters.
Places at the next session MUST BE BOOKED. There is a limited amount of kit and space in the pool.
Please note that if you turn up without booking you are likely to be turned away.

We usually go to a nearby pub afterwards. This is a great opportunity to meet some of our members and find out more about the club and how to get involved.
